Surgical Extractions / Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Removing teeth can involve raising the gingiva removing some bone, and sectioning the tooth to remove it in pieces. This is only carried out when we cannot remove the tooth in a more straight forward way.
Wisdom Tooth Removal is always carried out under local anaesthetic with or without sedation, to ensure the patient is comfortable.

If the normal precautions after surgery are followed it usually heals uneventfully (see “Instructions Following Routine Extractions” in Q & A section)

Wisdom teeth can pose certain potential problems which are discussed in the Q&A section under wisdom teeth.
